Saakhelu Kiwe Kame: Ofrenda a la Madre Tierra

Movie

Report
In the framework of the Colombian post-conflict, the Nasa indigenous people have been one of the peoples most affected by the war that has lived for more than fifty years in their territory. Conflict that has driven them little by little to forget and abandon their ancestral knowledge and ancient spiritual practices. Today it is a desire for them to return to walk in the footsteps of their ancestors and recover their uses and customs. Given this and their great concern for the revitalization of Mother Earth in times of climate change, they decide to re-practice one of their major rituals from their roots, whose sole objective is the offering of a sacrifice to Mother Earth, in order to connect in community with the spirits of nature, claiming for the mistreatment of man and thanking them for life. This offering is a tree called "Saakhelu".
