After receiving a package from his grandfather, Ray, a young inventor who lives in England during the mid-19th century, finds himself caught in the middle of a deadly conflict related to a revolutionary advance in steam power.
Originally this was marked as yes but the dog is only shown briefly near the beginning of the film as it's owner is getting off the boat and inside the castle.
Then even briefer later when it's treadmill is fixed. The dog is neither seen nor mention for the rest of the film.
Later on during a night scene the girl is shown getting out onto the deck of the ship that brought her and her dog.
By the end of the film, the ship is shown to be fine and presumably is where the dog has been the whole time.
Either way it is never conclusively stated to have been killed but that outcome is unlikely.
A horse and rider get caught in a middle of a chaotic chase scene where they flee for their lives to avoid getting run over by a steam-powered vehicle. (Both rider and horse make it out okay.)
A steam-powered vehicle commandeered by an antagonist in an early scene causes a lot of collateral damage to property while chasing another character, also on a steam-powered vehicle. We see no human casualties.
SPOILER: A device that harnesses a super-condensed form of steam goes critical in the climax, which effectively causes a large-scale explosion that is not nuclear in nature but still pretty damn big.
