A UFO is stranded on earth and impounded by the US government. Its pilot, a cat with a collar that gives it special powers, including the ability to communicate with humans, has eluded the authorities and seeks the help of a scientist in order to reclaim and repair his ship and get back home.

One that stood out to me was when the government officials are looking at footage of the cat doing his magic. It flashes at the end of the film they're showing, very bright white on an otherwise dark background. It isn't fast moving but it bothers the eyes.

There's some definite misogyny, nothing super "intentional." The one girl character (and there is only one, no girl background characters either) is cut off earlier than the others in conversations, is left in the dark a lot, is the one to get kidnapped, is assumed bad at sports just by the look of her... It really shows its age in that sense.

No, but there's a ridiculously long plane chase scene. No plane physically crashes, but you're nervous it's gonna happen for a long time. Characters jump out of a helicopter, characters dangle upside down from a plane, they go from one flying vehicle to another in a 2+ minute scene. If you've got plane worries this ending will be stressful.

Technically, no. But if this is a trigger for you, this movie will be very hard for you. There is a VERY long scene with helicopter chases, and somebody going from a helicopter to a plane, people dangling from the helicopter landing whatever... It's very tense, and it's a very long scene. Someone jumps from a helicopter without a parachute, though he survives. At the end of the movie a bunch of the villains are left dangling from their parachutes over a cliff.
