A mentally unhinged factory worker must decide whether to listen to his talking cat and become a killer, or follow his dog's advice to keep striving for normalcy.
This movie contains 46 potentially triggering events.
The cat says to Jerry that the dog was hit by a minivan after he runs away, but later on a first responder says a cat and dog were found, implying they are both safe.
The mother completes suicide, and Jerry clearly feels abandoned by this choice based on his dialogue with his therapist. It's not the typical set up but might still be triggering.
towards the end someone goes to investigate Jerry's appartment; when the indivual opens the door Bosco runs out of the door and runs off screen, minutes later Mr. Whiskers tells Jerry that Bosco ran off and got hit by a van but i believe thats just Jerry's psyche rationalizing the abscense of Bosco and that he actually didnt die. The cat doesnt die either for anyone wondering (my wife made me search all over google if the cat died before she would watch this movie with me and im sure some of you can relate).
It depends on what you find to be excessive. Lots of bloodstains are shown, and Jerry is at multiple points dismembering bodies but there's no close ups, it's mostly implied.
It doesn't show whether it gets totally destroyed or not, but Jerry's toy rabbit is ripped off of his hand while his stepfather screams at him that it isn't real.
There are 2 scenes of vomiting. The first one appears off screen and it's Ryan's character vomiting the pills he took bc he couldn't hear his animals talk and it made him feel alone and it scared him so he makes himself vomit in a toilet off screen. The second one is near the end, we don't se the guy vomiting but we see the vomit hitting the ground, after a character opens the door of Ryan's apparemment and he sees how much of a mess it is it makes him sick
I interpreted the main character as misrepresenting schizophrenia, but according to the film's IMDb page some people do view it as DID misrepresentation instead/as well.
Main character is a mentally ill (likely schizophrenic, though it's never labelled in the film) person who kills multiple people due to his mental illness.
