see: does a horse die. (Not onscreen, but a character in the second area (the blue-haired kid) does bring up accidentally blowing up his pet pony multiple times)

Various gods received letters containing lies that lead to them becoming upset and isolated. For an early game example, Miss Mitternacht received a letter supposedly saying that her lover secretly hated her the whole time, and she cries a lot over this.

Could be interpreted as such? The busyboys are all given one letter to start with, and then as they are promoted they earn more letters. One busyboy gets progressively more upset that he's not earning more letters.
SPOILERS: When he finally snaps and says his full name, it could be seen as reminiscent of a trans person being upset at not having their name respected. Also, when at the end one of the gods is demoted back to being a human, everyone immediately switches back to calling them by their human name.
