After Elise wakes up Christian and he runs into the bottom bunk and his whistle blows the dad runs upstairs with a baseball bat and locks Elise in the basement. I dont know details because I skipped the scene. (Child abuse is one of my triggers) In the present Elise talks about her Father beating her. Theres a flash back of the last time she was at the house. At 16 she is cleaning with Christian and starts speaking to the spirit of a woman. Her dad comes home in the middle of it. Again, I skipped most of the scene, but at the end she yells "I wont let you hurt me anymore!" And runs out of the house. The dad follows her out and says she needs to learn no one will else will ever love her. This scene is shown again later in the movie. After the demon has captured Elise and has imprisoned her she sees her father across the hall in a different cell. He opens his cell and then walks across and opens hers to beat her like when she was a child. Some how they change roles and she starts beating him before she calls the demon in and tells him shes not feeding his cycle of hatred anymore.
