Love Live!
TV Show • 2013 • Animation
ReportOtonokizaka High School stands on the border of three cities: Akihabara—a pop culture mecca that's evolving by the minute; Kanda—a conservative, cultured city where history and tradition reign supreme; and Jinbo—a quiet area reserved for a more mature, sophisticated population. Amidst this culture clash, the school now faces closure due to the enrollment of fewer and fewer students. With the school planning to close within three years, nine female students come together with one thing in mind—form a pop idol group to revive the school's popularity and keep it from shutting down. "In order to protect our beloved school, there's only one thing we can do... become pop stars!" Their goal is simple: Become an overnight sensation and use their nationwide media exposure to promote their school and bring in a wave of new students to the ailing area. A simple but solid plan, they figure. Naturally, they're nervous and wonder if this plan can really succeed, but for better or worse their new journey has begun...

In one of Rin’s School Idol Diaries, the death of a few kittens are mentioned. There are no animal deaths in the main show, though.

Nozomi randomly groping her bandmates chests, often to get them to do what she wants, is a running "joke".

In one episode in season two, the girls dress up in outfits reminiscent of the metal bad KISS, which involves clown-like black and white face makeup.

No needles appear in the show itself though one of Kotori's SR cards in the now terminated tie in game Love Live! School Idol Festival did depict her holding a large sharp needle.

S02E07 is about how Honoka has gained weight and is forced to exercise, along with Hanayo. However, both are drawn as thin as they are in the other episodes.

In S02E07 two of the main cast gain weight and it is one of the main topics in the episode. Eating disorders are not mentioned but the girls are put on a very strict diet and exercise routine, their weight gain is discussed very negatively whenever it is brought up in the episode.

S02E07 is one giant fat joke, as Honoka has gained weight, and she is forced to exercise, along with Hanayo. There are many jokes at their expense.
