Overall animals have a much easier time of it in this book than humans, but plenty do die, sometimes badly, although no long and distressing scenes imo
A side comment by one character that a (human) character looks worse than the loser in a dog fight, making it clear that dog fighting exists in this world, but it's not seen
There are several named horses in this book, and none of them die. There may be brief mentions of horses dying in battle, but if so they were forgettable.
Characters kill themselves to avoid dying in worse ways or being sold into slavery. This is pretty brief. Character attempts suicide on the page, although this is again pretty brief and stems from a very bad situation rather than suicidal ideation
An enemy family's citadel is burned with everyone in it, but we don't see it happen. In a legend, a saint is burned on a pyre. Threats of burning and cooking people.
