Stanley Ford leads an idyllic bachelor life. He is a nationally syndicated cartoonist whose Bash Brannigan series provides him with a luxury townhouse and a full-time valet, Charles. When he wakes up the morning after the night before - he had attended a friend's stag party - he finds that he is married to the very beautiful woman who popped out of the cake - and who doesn't speak a word of English. Despite his initial protestations, he comes to like married life and even changes his cartoon character from a super spy to a somewhat harried husband.
There are two dogs in the movie. The first is a spoiled little dog who is carried around all the time, then the main characters wife gets a little dog to spoil. When she leaves her husband she takes the dog. When she returns the dog isn't seen or heard but I assume she brought it back with her.
Not exactly but at the main characters trial for murdering his wife (no one was murdered) he says some things that are anti-woman. There is also an offensive joke when someone keeps saying "How?" a character replies " You sound like a feeble-minded Indian"
There is fake gunplay by the main character and some guys he has helping him work out some scenes he wants to later work into a comic strip he writes and draws.
