In the second book a character is hit in the eye with a stone from a slingshot and is then described as wearing an eyepatch in a subsequent chapter, but he recovers nearly completely and there is no graphical description
In one of the books a character falls in the mote, almost drowning, but survives. ----------- At least two characters are said to have drowned. There is also one instance in the in the sixth book where septimus faces drowning but manages to avoid it. There are two other instances in the same book (i believe) where characters who cant swim/are unable to under the circumstances are saved from deep waters.
There are several instances in the books where a character struggles to breathe. But it is never an 'outdrawn' incident, and the characters do not suffer serious or long term injuries
no, but one of the characters do express a feeling of unease in a room of the castle as there is a ghost in the room that does not appear. There is also a 'shadow' following Marcia Overstrand in one of the books, but this is a major plot point and though marcia feels uneasy she is aware of the shadow and is more frustrated than scared
Several times there are scenes described as claustrophobic, and one of the main characters is described as having claustrophobia and his reactions are described in the books
A major element of the series is that several of the characters were involved in the Young Army, a child army in which they were forced to live in horrid conditions and were frequently verbally abused and put into life-threatening situations
a shoemaker is said to keep a certain type of snake, but there are no interactions involving the snake. There is also a large snake living in the marsh, but it is never described in a scary manner. Aunt zelda does have a brief interaction with it in one of the books, but she is not hurt and the snake leaves without much struggle
