not sure. There is a 'scene' in the third book where several ducklings are implied to face a terrible fate by being but in hot sauce while alive.

In the second book a character is hit in the eye with a stone from a slingshot and is then described as wearing an eyepatch in a subsequent chapter, but he recovers nearly completely and there is no graphical description

A major element of the series is that several of the characters were involved in the Young Army, a child army in which they were forced to live in horrid conditions and were frequently verbally abused and put into life-threatening situations

At one point the book goes out of its way to say that the horse survives.

a shoemaker is said to keep a certain type of snake, but there are no interactions involving the snake. There is also a large snake living in the marsh, but it is never described in a scary manner. Aunt zelda does have a brief interaction with it in one of the books, but she is not hurt and the snake leaves without much struggle
