This features heavily in the storyline, both leads were abused as children, shown in many flashbacks.

One of the alters is a girl who has a crush on the system's male friend. She is extremely pushy and clearly makes him very uncomfortable. In one scene she goes as far as kissing him a few times on his cheek despite his saying no.

This show is over the top in general (as many shows in this genre can be), and that's very much true of its depiction of D.I.D as well. It is a fantastical, almost cartoony type of depiction. Switches are often dramatic, and seem more representative of a werewolf transformation or something like that than what switches actually look like. Eyes can change colours, tattoos can appear and disappear, etc. So clearly not that accurate.

It falls into a number of tropes, like medication stopping switches, the violent alter, alters just messing up the normal seeming alter's life, fear based imagery and reactions, just to name a few. And it's also perpetuates the outdated notion that integration is the only treatment for people with D.I.D.

What it does do well, is it's depiction of trauma. And there are some growth and good moments such as the quote "'Person?' Finally you're treating me as a human, rather than a personality".
