Samuel, a Russian-born Jewish inventor who specialises in the development of hearing aids, is tasked with a secret mission by MI5 to use his technological expertise to contribute to western Cold War efforts. Following the tensions of the space race and the first hydrogen bomb test, Samuel's efforts factor in to the emergence of the modern world.
Sasha goes to boarding school, where is common practice to punish the young pupils by hitting them on the bottom with a cane or a hairbrush. This is shown on screen.
A couple is seen asleep in bed in the morning, it's implied they are naked and they slept together the night before, but they are covered by the bedsheets.
The show is set in 1958, the main character and his family are Jewish and face discrimination on several occasions.

Nothing more than a kiss following a highly emotional moment, an end is put to it immediately. Both characters regret it, and it's not mentioned again.
The main characters are Jewish and there's plenty of discrimination against them. The harsher is in episode 5, when Samuel is dining with Lord Wallington, Mr. Shaw, and General Maddow. The latter makes some very strong antisemitic remarks. This is around minute 37.
