The war film that's not a war film. A film about the mental institution which backdrop is the Chechen war. A story about the patients living in an institution during the war on the border of Chechnia and Russia during the war. The patients have to continue living their day to day life after being invaded twice over, and they have to deal with their sicknesses.

Not finger, but hands. Near the end around 1h20m in (after Janna returns to her room and the sniper sets up in the window, telling her to leave), she grasps a shard of glass and uses it to stab some polaroid photos. Her hands are seen dripping with blood during this scene, and for a while after.

One of the seemingly-AMAB patients acts and dresses very femininely. While the character never self-identifies as a woman, there is an exchange of dialogue where another patient says "He's a man", correcting one of the soldiers who called the character a hairy woman.

The Chechen soldiers give Janna the impression that one of them wants to marry him, which she takes seriously. This is resolved very thoughtfully in the film, but could still be upsetting at the time. As far as ableist language: Patients in the mental hospital are usually referred to as "sick" in the subtitles as opposed to a worse ableist word, but there is likely worse ableism that I may have missed.
