This is a big theme of the main game — with Morgan trapped in a simulation and having their memories constantly wiped. Before he escapes the Sim Lab he has relived the same day for months. Both January and Alex try to convince Morgan to follow their plans, citing past conflicting videos Morgan had made for his future self.

In Mooncrash a Telepath will convince Andrius Alekna to bring a disguised Mimic back to Earth with him, impersonating his son back on Earth, guilt tripping him, and repeatedly saying it’s what he wants to do. This is notable as usually Telepaths use psychological torture instead of gaslighting.

The Thermal Phantom and Thermal Mimic use pyrokinesis in battle. There are also many pipes and oil spills that will set alight if damaged. Both the player and NPCs can die in these fires. It is mentioned in the Thermal Mimic’s scan data that it melted off someone’s face.

In Claire Whitten’s story quest in the Mooncrash DLC it begins with her killing a man by pushing a knife through his face. The Psychostatic Cutter (the aforementioned knife) can also be used against NPCs.

It’s implied Danielle Sho does shortly after the last time they speak with the player. It’s also a way you can die in Mooncrash outside of the simulation. Morgan breathes heavy when in areas which have low or no oxygen. You can die of asphyxiation in space if you turn on the oxygen survival option.

Towards the end of the game, an audio message by a NPC can be relayed to the player telling them that they've broken their arm and need help, however it's revealed to be a set-up by one of the main antagonists.

While it's not 'possession' in the traditional sense, there's an alien enemy in the game with mind control powers that can turn human NPCs against the player. Defeating the alien causes all humans it was controlling to fall unconscious.

Upgrading or getting new powers involves sticking a machine with a needle on it into your eye. A one-time animation of the player character doing this is shown the first time a power is obtained, and it is noted by several characters that one of their eyes is red from repeated usage.

Several NPCs you find dead seemingly killed themselves so the Typhon couldn’t get to them, which is also revealed in some audiologs. Luka Golubkin, the “imposter cook”, will kill himself with a Recycler Charge in your final confrontation with him in the Escape Pod Bay on the Talos I Bridge.

The impostor chef suffers from several undiagnosed conditions as evident by a Telepath’s aversion/fear of him after peering into his mind when attempting to colonize/control it. He is a serial killer, cannibal, and terrorist. The violent actions which he takes on screen are hitting another (robot) character over the head with a wrench for interrupting him and later trying to kill you several times with explosives. The bodies of four of his victims can be found in the freezer room in the Crew Quarters.

There's lots of squeezing through gaps and going through maintainence tunnels but you can always turn around with full 360 degree movement and escape. If you're unlucky you could get cornered by an enemy while in a tunnel.

One of the enemies makes your camera sensitivity super high and adds a slight shake to your view. You can cure it with alcohol or get a permanent upgrade to cancel the effect or just choose to ignore the enemy completely.

In flash backs, flash forwards, when enemies are nearby, and some enemy attacks. The more psychedelic effects come from flash forwards and enemies like the Poltergiest using its lift field, the Weaver afflicting the player with the fear effect, and the Telepath using its psyshock. You can not progress without encountering and battling these enemies, as well as experiencing the flash forwards cutscenes. Lights will also flicker whenever Typhon organisms are nearby, but not like strobe lights and more like a simple malfunction.

There's a questionnaire at the start that proposes an alternate solution to the 'trolley problem' where pushing a fat guy onto the train tracks will stop an oncoming train from killing people tied to the tracks. There's also an achievement called 'Push the Fat Man' that is rewarded for killing one of the main characters, who is fat, and there's a visual gag in that character's apartment with boxes on top of a treadmill and unread emails from his physician telling him to exercise.

Mostly, yes. It can also be seen as bittersweet. You can choose your ending but all of them result in the Typhon making their way to Earth. At the very end you can choose whether to give humanity a beacon of hope by shaking Alex Yu’s hand, or choose the bad ending where you kill everyone in the room.

An escape shuttle crashed into a Weaver and is promptly destroyed by Typhon

In Mooncrash in Vijay Bhatia’s story quest you have the option to destroy Claire Whitten’s escape pod, which crashes and explodes in the distance.

In Mooncrash Peter is forced to crash his ship onto the Moon to avoid slowly suffocating to death in his ship. He manages to make it back to Earth, though!

Bloody or grossly emaciated bodies are seen around the station. Large blood splatters when people are shot. Mind-controlled people have their heads explode if you get too close; you see a large red cloud, and a stump.
