Day Break Illusion
TV Show • 2013 • Animation
ReportIn a world plagued by the Daemonia, creatures that take advantage of the negative emotions of people and transform them into monsters, girls from 22 special bloodlines are chosen to wield the power of the Elemental Tarot and confront them. The story follows Akari Taiyo, a 12-year-girl who becomes the wielder of card "The Sun" and joins the mysterious organization "Sefiro Fiore" to confront the Daemonia along other card wielders. However, it does not take long for Akari to learn that with their duty comes an unbearable guilt, as to defeat the Daemonia, the humans afflicted by them must perish as well.

No characters are sexually assaulted, but there's a brief scene of an adult stating that he wants to mate with a 12 year old girl.

[SPOILERS]
- Fuyuna (a middle schooler, presumably about 12-13) becomes a Daemonia, and Akari is forced to kill her.
- In Episode 3, an unnamed Daemonia mentions killing children so he can bring his own dead son back.
- Hanae (presumably 12-13) becomes a Daemonia, and is killed.
- Minori (same age as Hanae) almost dies from a heart attack.
- Kiyone (who is a teenager, about high school age?) becomes a Daemonia, and is killed. Before she becomes a Daemonia, she also murders Yume and Shuuji, who are presumably around her same age.
- Manami (around elementary school age) was impaled by a Daemonia. The image of her death is censored, but we still hear the sound of her body being impaled.
- Ginka (aged 13) apparently dies when her Diabolos self, the Inverse Temperance, is defeated. As it turns out, she's actually sent to another dimension where she's forced to fight Inverse Temperance over and over, until one day she finally defeats Inverse without dying.

[SPOILERS]
- Akari's mother, Taiyo, passed away before the events of the show.
- In Episode 3, an unnamed Daemonia killed children to bring his own dead son back. He's mercy killed by Akari.
- While he's not a parent, Honda is an uncle/father figure to Ginka, was friends with Ginka's actual father, and admits to seeing Ginka as his own daughter. He almost commits suicide, then eventually becomes a Daemonia and is killed.
- Akari's father was a Daemonia. It's inferred he's already dead by the time Akari learns the truth.

One episode has a character being audibly impaled while censoring the scene itself.

There's a character who's a trans woman, but she's never misgendered.

Luna (who is likely a lesbian, as Cerebrum confirms she has a crush on Akari) does not die, but she almost gets killed when Cerebrum stabs her and fuses her with her Daemonia form. She comes close to getting killed again in a fight with Seira.
The only other confirmed LGBT character is Hanayume, a transgender woman. She doesn't die.

Lots of it, especially in the fight scenes. Probably the most gruesome is Fuyuna's death, which happens very early on and again late into the series.
