When Edward kills an animal, its corpse remains there for a while - and if Edward skins the animal, its skinned corpse also remains. There is an option to quickly skip the skinning cutscene.

the island of Nassau is struck with a plague that makes all the characters vomit, but upon closer inspection, nothing was coming out of their mouths. Mostly just bending over and retching/coughing but not actual vomit. Maybe it was a glitch on my version, but kinda funny to be honest

A bit. Hornigold, one of your pirate pals, sees that your second in command is a black man (Adewale) and questions you for letting him carry a gun, to which Edward, the character you play as, answers something along the lines of “peace, Adewale saved my life”. He doesn’t confront Hornigold's racism directly. This happens in the beginning of the game, when you go to Nassau for the first time, shortly after meeting Adewale.
Later in the game, when you talk to Adewale about going after a ship that’s transporting enslaved black people (because a man that you’re pursuing is aboard that ship), Adewale asks if you’re thinking about going after “human cargo”, to which Edward answers abruptly something along the lines of “JESUS Ade, you know me better than that!”, suggesting Edward isn’t racist and might have a tendency towards anti racism.
There’s another moment in the game when you’re following two antagonists and they discuss slavery, one being in favor of it and the other being against. The man that is defending slavery is overly racist, dehumanizing black people, but the discussion is brief. It happens in a mission where, right at the beginning, you find “James Kidd” also pursuing the same people for different reasons.
