Every major character seems to partake in recreational drinking; excluding a small portion of characters.

Several times. One character frequently cuts their palms and uses the blood for satanic rituals. Several characters harm themselves in an act of suicide (episodes 5 and 7). One character fakes an injury on-screen by stabbing themself in the thigh(episode 5).

Yes; cocaine had risen largely in popularity during the 80’s, and seeing as this season is set in ‘84, its especially full of drug usage. Including; but not limited to; marijuana and cocaine.

[SPOILERS] Depends on your definition of "first." In terms of minor characters, no. In terms of major characters, yes. He dies near the end of episode 3.

Not directly. A trend for one of the main characters is witnessing or being accused of things that other characters do not believe. The same character is being stalked by a serial killer. A character they confide in does not deny this, but IS helping the serial killer stalk them.

Several. These include a scene where several patients "escape," a scene that shows events leading up to the escape, and a scene where an institutionalized patient is interviewed.

Episode 1: The two main female characters have a conversation in the shower. No nudity is shown. Episode 2: All but one of the main male characters are shown showering. There are several shots of their buttocks. A minor character spies on them and makes several sexually suggestive comments about one of them.

A decent amount. Fairly graphic; but nothing particularly real looking besides well done prosthetic pieces.

*SPOILER* Episode 8 The Night Stalker blinds Mr. Jingles within 30 seconds of commencing their first battle. This happens immediately afterthe Night Stalker begins singing a Billy Idol song. Once Jingles revives, his eyes are back to normal.

Episode 7: A minor character has at least one finger removed in an act of revenge. There are likely more scenes involving finger/toe mutilation that I can't currently remember.

Episode 4: A character is shot in the chest three times by another character in self-defense. They survive. Episode 5: A main character steals a police officer's gun and shoots them. Episode 7: A character steals a police officer's gun and shoots them. (No that is not a typo. It seriously happens twice) A main character is held at gunpoint by a serial killer. The same character steals the serial killer's other gun and shoots them in the leg with it.

Graphic depictions of ears being cut off; as well as Ray’s hand being cut by a beer can in the first episode.
