Lots of this in every episode. Teenager style humor is used, so p***s drawings and flipping people off are just two examples of gestures that occur frequently.
There is an episode where a character gets their first period and confronts several things. Among them are how to use a tampon, the fact that the character misses their mother and wishes their mother could be there to explain periods to them, and how uncomfortable it is to have a period explained to them by someone who has never experienced menstruation themself.
Neglect by children. And Also violence with adults and kids . Also kids being abusive towards other kids. Principal harrases and push Crumble down the stairs
A main character also has scars across his face and chest which look like the result of fire or acid. Another character, shown very briefly, explicitly states that her facial scar is the result of fire.
Two characters have sex and one of the characters is upset because the day after having sex, the other person hones in again on their old partner without acknowledging what happened between them.
yes. its awful. i really liked the show and was enjoying it but the trypophobia scenes are so graphic i genuinely couldnt keep watching. unfortunately id recommend just not watching this at all if you have this phobia because its basically an unavoidable part of the story but its not outright shown until several episodes in. like i said i enjoyed the show but my personal experience was ruined by this, and i had no idea it was coming, which always makes it worse. so please save yourself some grief and pick something else to watch. (not umbrella academy though, lmao)
When the bullies are tied up and the people are throwing balls at them, one of the guys throws up and says “nice throw” or sum. Very triggering for me because when it came out I had been freshly diagnosed with emetephobia. Might not be triggering for others
It is suggested that the radiation from the nukes has caused cancer in all of the survivors, though this claim is not definitive and it is not brought up again.
No, but there is suspiciously convenient usage of an eating challenge in which cheerleaders are testing girls who want to be cheerleaders by having them sit before a banquet table of food with instructions to determine what is safe to consume (the food may be laced with laxatives or something that makes the girls very sick).
SPOILER
The moral winds up being that the only thing on the table safe to consume is the water. Then the one of the cheerleaders explains that humans can go up to three weeks without food.
Episode 1, there is a joke about a character having a "ridiculous" gender identity, obviously meant as a jab towards people with unconventional gender identities. It's brief, but can still be upsetting.
The n-word is said by a black person speaking to a white person in a position of power over the black person. The word is used regarding whether or not the white person is offended by the presence of the black people in the room.
in the beginning of ep.4 the young girl (Angelica) calls the gay character gay and retarted (its meant in a funny way but might still be triggering) also the beginning of ep 5 there is racism towards Asian people
There are references to loosely Jewish things; someone claims their made-up name is Jewish, someone dresses as a Hasidic Jewish person in an effort to disguise themself. There is also a moment in which a character says that another character viewed as evil could have been named Adolf.
(statutory) rape is shown in ep 4 its a 15 year old girl and a 19(?) year old it was --technically-- consensual but the age difference is what gets it. and the beginning of ep5 nothing is shown but it is implied
No, but it very blatantly sets up for a season 2 which will never happen (it was cancelled soon after season 1's release). It's not exactly a cliffhanger, but it leaves a lot to be desired.
