Chameleon
The monsters you fight in the game (called the “Heartless”) sometimes look like animals, such as monkeys. In the level modeled after the Jungle Book, there is a boss where the movie’s antagonist ride on a large chameleon heartless. You can technically beat him without killing the chameleon (who often turns invisible) but it will be a slightly harder fight.

No, but they are threatened by Clayton in the Deep Jungle world. In line with his behavior in the movie Tarzan, Clayton wants to hunt the gorillas rather than research them. He does once shoot at a gorilla, but it misses wide and the gorilla is completely unharmed.

Sabor the leopard dies near the end of Deep Jungle, with her dropping dead as the scene dwells on her corpse for a few seconds.

Riku will sometimes show up wherever Sora is, but he’s not following him so much as knowing where he’s going to be next and then going there. The villains of the game are frequently shown watching what Sora is doing.

Apharius
While it doesn't kill him, there is a scene where a child stabs himself with a magical weapon to release his friend's soul, which is trapped within him. His body disappears and he's transformed into a monster, but is soon brought back to normal.

A major character is possessed by somebody else for the entirety of Hollow Bastion, and may have been prior to that.

Nobody dies of suicide, but a specific scene shows the main character using his weapon to stab his heart to activate a type of magic, and is believed dead.

There is a scene towards the end where the main character stabs himself in the heart to activate a type of magic. It is done in a very cartoonish style and is not gory at all.

It's bittersweet with emphasis on the bitter. <SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT!!!> The main characters have to seal their respective closest allies inside another world, and one has to separate from his other best friend as they return to different worlds, with interworld travel no longer being possible.
