A significant portion of a building catches fire, and someone is found dead in the aftermath, but they were actually stabbed to death and didn't die from the fire.

The death of one particular parent is a massive event that influences much of this series' story, including this spinoff. There are flashbacks to what this parent was like alive but in this game, his death is not touched upon or shown.

The third case revolves around a kidnapping, but is eventually revealed to be a plot by the "victims" to get ransom money. The character you play as is knocked out and locked in an empty room for real, though.

No, however in one case a child has a balloon which then pops. She pops it herself as a joke to scare another character.

While there are no jump scares in the traditional sense, there are times that could be considered one, particularly in the third case.

The culprits have "breakdowns" when they are caught. Also, in the second game, a character repeatedly bursts into tears when he is stressed.

However one character, who is very anxious and in an abusive relationship, frequently comes close to hacking her own hair off with a pair of scissors. Though we only ever see her come close in game, her character design makes it clear she has followed through in the past.

The camera shakes occasionally to punctuate dialogue.

A character is frequently referred to as being "stupid", "not very bright", etc etc

In the final case, one character dresses as Santa. Another character scolds him for it, citing that Santa isn't real.

However the animations of one character, (particularly when she is in distress) nod towards physical abuse and may imply that her fiancé abused her physically as well as emotionally.

Both Edgeworth and his adoptive sister grew up in an emotionally abusive household. One of the cases in this game takes place during this period of their lives, and while not particularly prominent, it may be triggering, particularly if the player already knows the history of these characters.

Many, many instances of characters being shot or threatened at gunpoint. Typical for the series.

There is one case taking place on a plane, and there is significant turbulence. This is noted to be a trigger of a main character.
