Skating star Sonja Henie and the Glenn Miller Orchestra share the spotlight in Sun Valley Serenade. Henie plays a Norwegian refugee adopted by band pianist John Payne, who mistakenly thought that the full-grown Miss Henie was a 10-year-old little girl. Payne's girlfriend, Lynn Bari, is a soloist with the Miller band, and also a violently jealous sort. When Bari quits Miller out of pique, Henie stages an elaborate ice show as a substitute. This impromptu spectacular thrills the audience at the Sun Valley resort hotel where most of the action takes place. Joan Davis and Milton Berle provide comic relief to the music and romance (you haven't lived until you've seen Berle on skis), while The Nicholas Brothers and Dorothy Dandridge perform a lively chorus of "Chattanooga Choo Choo."

Arguably. Sonja Henje plays teenage girl (though she's probably of age of consent) who's trying to seduce a grown man and she herself is considered attractive by men. The sexual subtext is very subtle and Henje was 29 while starring in the film.

There is a "joke" where a character who is a WWII refugee hears a siren and "comically" panics and ducks for cover because she thinks it's an air raid, thereby portraying PTSD (or "shell shock" as it was known at the time) as something to laugh at.

NO BUT this 1941 movie does have Black characters who are forced to act out stereotypical roles and dialog. That said, the movie has some remarkable performances from well known Black entertainers of the day, so it depends on what you're willing to sit through, but that said the performance clips can just as easily be found on youtube without having to sit through this awful film.

A woman becomes obsessed with a man and stalks him relentlessly. More disconcertingly, though this behavior would instantly be recognized as somewhere between extremely unhealthy and actively dangerous in the present, apparently in 1941 it was considered cute and charming.
