Although theorised, no one is really ready when a mountain pass above the scenic and narrow Geiranger fjord in Norway collapses and creates a tsunami over 300 feet high. A geologist is one of those caught in the middle of it.
This movie contains 14 potentially triggering events.
There isn't a prominently featured dog (in fact, I don't remember seeing any dogs at all, but I might just not have noticed), and we don't see a dog die. But of course, what with a tsunami hitting a town, it must be assumed that some dogs and other animals die.
No, but a qualified person's urgent and insistent warning is dismissed out of hand by his colleagues and thus goes unheeded. Not being worried themselves by the indications of unusual activity, they tell him that there are no real signs of danger - although there are - and that he's overreacting. Their responses to his explanation of why there's imminent danger are somewhat patronising, bordering on ridicule. This makes him question his own assessment and back down, agreeing to take no proper measures. But the colleagues aren't gaslighting him; they genuinely think he's wrong.
We see children being treated with love and attention only. (A dad leaves his children of about 6 and 16 waiting in a car for hours, but that's because he's certain that a disaster is imminent, and it's his pressing duty to help avoid casualties. He later apologises and feels bad about it.)

SPOILER! when the mom and son and trapped in the room underground and the water is getting higher the mom drowns the other man that’s with them since he’s trying to drown them bc he’s panicking. she holds him under water with her legs and he’s seen ‘lifeless’
Many people drown in this movie because of a tsunami. A few are also trapped in a small room and then a small air pocket. At one point, a man tries to stay afloat by pushing another boy underneath him. The boy struggles to breathe but eventually is set free and lives. At another point, a main character must be given CPR to survive.
A man who's inside a crevice in the cliff (fell) gets hit by a large rock lavine. We don't see him crushed; we just see him swallowed up by the falling rocks and dirt. There's no way he doesn't die simply from the first large-enough rock that hits his head, so it's more like he dies from blunt or sharp force trauma, but maybe the whole thing is sort of crushing-adjacent, at least to some people.
The other comment is incorrect as their are two people in the crevice, one man is knocked off the mountain with the landslide and presumed buried under it while the other survives.
A woman is between the back end of one car and the front end of another, when one of them suddenly rolls into the other, breaking both of her legs. Okay, admittedly she manages to walk a few meters (stumblingly and with support) after being freed, so her legs MIGHT not be broken, but she screams at the moment of impact, and walking afterwards clearly causes her immense pain. I don't know; I'm very far from being an expert on bone fractures... Anyway, bones will be breaking all over the place when a tsunami hits... but we don't see any bones sticking out or limbs in "unnatural" angles, and I don't think we hear any bones break.
More than one person put themselves in mortal danger (by running back for someone instead of fleeing the tsunami as fast a possible, and by diving into rooms completely filled with water) to save others, but no one chooses 100% certain death. Still, two people do die (drown) because they didn't save themselves instead, and one person appears dead (drowned) for a while after rescuing someone, but is resuscitated.
The mother and wife of a neighboring family dies during the town’s attempt to evacuate. Neither of the main characters who are parents die, though one has to be revived via CPR.
SPOILER! there is a moment when the father drowns basically and they do cpr and he spits a bunch of water up which kind of was triggering but it just depends on what you’re comfortable with. you can skip tho you can tell when it’s coming up
No, but since many buildings and vehicles are destroyed, leaving rubble and debris all over the place, and since we see several dead bodies lying around, the movie might well be triggering anyway.
Someone panics so badly in a room filling up with water that he loses all reason and almost drowns two others by pushing them under water for no good reason. The people whom he's effectively killing have to kill him in self-defense when they can't calm him down.
Not before the disaster, as far as we know. Some people will definitely be traumatised BY the disaster, but we don't see that, since the movie ends very soon after the disaster is over.
Very mild. A fully dressed married couple get frisky with each other, the man lifting the woman to sit on the kitchen counter; they kiss. It doesn't get hot and heavy. After a couple of moments, their teen son enters the room and says, "Not on the kitchen counter; we'll be putting food on it tomorrow", and they stop, laughing. That's all.
Well, people become homeless because of the tsunami, but we don't see the experience of being homeless as such. No people living on the street or the like.
Yes. Many cars are abandoned/crashed/stuck while the town tries to evacuate en mass. The crashes are not high speed. There is also a scene where a man and a woman in a car are thrown around by a tsunami.
Very minimal amount for a disaster movie, most of the dead have drowned and the injured main character is showed to be more bruised than anything. Most severe seen is the aftermath of a woman being impaled which is briefly shown with minimal blood.
