There are a couple of scenes of attempted rape, however, they’re always unsuccessful.
-
This is hard to answer, I would call it dubiously consensual. A woman sleeps with a man because she’s pretending to love him so she can spy. He gets frustrated with her lack of commitment, so she sleeps with him. However, she turns away from him and cries. This is season 2 episode 10. Another scene in season 3 episode 1 where the same woman agrees to sleep with the same man and isn’t happy about it. There is one other attempt (that doesn’t happen) and a couple of other threats. Nothing else on screen.

Although it’s never flat out talked about, in the first 2 seasons, a cruel man in power hangs around a woman, and the threat of rape always seems to be there. However, this never happens. In season 2 episode 8, I believe, a man holds a gun to a woman’s head and makes crude remarks; clearly his attempt is to rape her while 2 other men are forced to watch. However, he is killed before this can happen. A prison guard makes vague yet clear threats to a man, something like wanting to “strip [him] down” and see where “bare instincts” take them. However, it’s never said if these threats happened, and if they did, nothing ever happens on screen or is mentioned about it.

In s3 e3, a man proposes to a woman and mentions they are cousins. No incestuous actions are shown on screen, and this line is most likely played for laughs. In s3 e8 or 9, a man is accused of sleeping with him sister. Again, nothing is shown, and they don’t go into detail beyond that.

I don’t believe so, not that I can think of. Some characters willingly go to death, but not because they want to die, usually because they’re defending their honor, or unwilling to give a false confession. A character is mentioned to have died by suicide, but it is heavily implied and later confirmed that this character was murdered.

This is hard to answer, especially without spoilers, but I would say yes, just maybe not in the traditional sense? A woman pretends to love a man in order to report enemy plans back to her side, and he gets rough with her. Abe grabs Mary roughly by the wrists several times throughout the series, but doesn’t harm her beyond that. A man grabs his father by the shoulders and pushes him into a wall.

Not in the traditional sense. There are a few self-inflicted injuries, but for reasons outside of poor mental health. For example, in episode 1, a man cuts his forehead, because he needs to make it seem like he was kidnapped by dangerous people.

No, but there is a very quick yet graphic scene where a man scalps another in season 2. Blink and you’ll miss it, but it’s there. I will describe the scene below the spoiler line in case anyone wants to skip it.
-
SPOILER: When Simcoe first meets up with the Queen’s Rangers in the woods upon first being made their leader, one Ranger makes it clear he has an issue with Simcoe. Simcoe grabs his arm, twists it, then scalps the man.

Yes, but I would say they’re mild. A man is shown naked from behind as he’s thrown in a cell, completely non-sexual and shown from far away. There are scenes of couples in bed, clearly nude, but anything sensitive is covered by sheets, arms, etc. Abe is shown naked in a bath, but again, anything sensitive is covered by limb placement and this is also not meant to be sexual.

A very brief but graphic decapitation happens in the first scene of s3 e1. A man is pushed suddenly from the platform where he is supposed to be hanged and is decapitated. There might be other instances, but if there are, it’s during war scenes and far away, so it shouldn’t be too graphic. Sorry if these do exist - I’m trying to give the most accurate answer because there are no other ratings here at the time I’m writing this.

It could be argued yes, I guess, but I would say no. A man figures out that romantic letters written to a man were written by another man. He confronts the man about this (alone), because he suspects it’s a relevant detail to a crime. Another man overhears this and ambushes them both. I don’t believe anyone outside of these characters is ever told though.

Probably a few characters considering it was significantly more common to stay a virgin until marriage at this time. However, I believe the only one explicitly stated as such is Ben. He’s mentioned to be a virgin early on, then in s3 e4, it is implied he sleeps with a woman.

Not sure how to answer this. By today’s standards, probably. A bust of King George that would most likely be considered a priceless artifact is destroyed, for example, however, it’s created to purposely smuggle something else and is meant to be broken. The series is based on real history, so there shouldn’t be any artifact destroyed that is still around today.

A main character dies from being hanged in s3 e10, it’s very emotional. Another main character is hanged, but is rescued before it’s fatal. Other minor characters are hanged throughout. The most graphic by far is the first scene of s3 e01, where a man is decapitated by a hanging gone wrong, and another dies slowly.

Not that I can think of - there might be something quick in a war scene. I know a dead body is burned at the end of season 1, but I don’t think anyone alive is. In s4 e2, someone is branded with a scalding sword. They survive, and no (direct) fire.

Multiple torture scenes in the show, however, the only very brutal one is in s4 e2. A very likable character is tied to a chair, cut with a sword, and salt is rubbed in the wounds. He is then branded with a scalding hot sword. In episode 1, a man is taken and has his head held underwater repeatedly while being interrogated. A bit later in season 1, a man is held captive and beaten, although this doesn’t seem to faze him much. In season 2, a man is stripped naked (not seen except for quick rear nudity) and thrown in an outdoor cell. It is winter, and the torturers hope the extreme conditions will make him confess. He ends up with frost bite on his toes. A different man is thrown in prison and is repeatedly beaten by other prisoners, starved, threatened with sexual assault (if this ever actually happens it’s off screen) and threatened with death. In the last season, a man is tied to a chair and its implied tools are used to hurt him (though I don’t believe this is ever shown), however, the man maintains good spirits throughout.

A character is shown with an eye injury that looks like a severe bruising. However, the violence that led to this injury is not shown, and the man recovers fine. In s3 e3, a man is cut near the eye during a fight. A blade is slashed across his eyelid in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot. And afterwards, his eye is bloody, and it just looks closed. He wears a eyepatch for a while afterwards, turn his eye eventually heals.
