SPOILERS Not fully but the ending is weird, after abuse and sa from her brother the main character is very upset when he dies, but also is the one who killed him. And there’s a point where she is under a spell type influence that causes her to “forgive” and be on her brothers side.
We don't see it but hear a story from Jace's childhood where his father killed his bird. Also, when trapped in his family home's bedroom, Simon kills a rat. S2 I think.
There is a scene in which a group of women have been magically drugged and raped, for the purpose of becoming pregnant. There is an attempt to sexually assault a main character by a demon. A main character is kissed against their will by an ex-partner. There is also a sexually abusive one-sided incestuous relationship, though this does not become physical.
I don't recall, but we hear a story from Jace's childhood where his father killed his bird in a neck-related way. There may also be instances with the supernatural fighting.
There is a scene where people are set on fire as punishment for crimes. There is a character whose skin is complete charred. There's a type of portal that's just a ring if fire, although it doesn't burn to use the portal, it does hurt the people going through it.
Most disturbing to me was a full-body severely-burned survivor of torture antagonist that we start to see more in S2E17, though we might see their real form in an earlier episode during the reveal to Valentine.
there's scenes in episode 2 (where i'm up to) where multiple people have their eyes and mouths stitched shut. i wasn't ready for it and found it startling. they're shown multiple times in that episode
Many characters attempt to sacrifice themselves. *spoilers* off the top of my head, Jace tries to sacrifice his life to destroy the soul sword, Clary insists that she should die so she doesn’t activate the soul sword, Magnus gives up his magic (which makes him extremely depressed) to save Jace, and I’m sure there’s many more.
I remember there was an episode where Alec was possessed and made to kill someone, and then the demon possessed another main character too, and they both have some kind of trauma after as a result. There may be other possessions too but that one was impactful. Maybe early S2?
In season 1, episode 13, but it’s not cheating. Magnus is kissed by his ex-girlfriend Camille without his consent and before he can push her away, Alec walks in and assumes the worst, but they seem to clear it up immediately.
Almost again in season 2, episode 13. However Magnus, the bisexual character, shuts it down as soon as he realizes that he’s about to be kissed.
In season 2, episode 10, we find out that Raphael is asexual. Izzy asks him if being a vampire made him this way, some may interpret that as aphobic but she doesn’t say anything else rude after he corrects her that he’s always been like this. But it’s worth noting that in the books, Raphael is an AROMANTIC asexual, however in the show he’s only asexual.
Technically, yes, between Magnus and Alec. However, Magnus is an immortal warlock (~400 years old) and Alec is a mortal adult (~20’s, unlike in the book where he’s like 18)
It’s stated in the first season that Alec is a virgin, and Magnus is the only person that Alec has ever been with. We don’t see anything explicit, just them kissing.
It’s pretty prominent in the end of season two and especially season three. To the point where the brother pretends to be someone else and kisses her without her consent, and later hires someone to pretend to be his sister and it’s very creepy
