Curious George is an animated television series based on the Curious George children's book series, which features Jeff Bennett as the voice of The Man with the Yellow Hat. Frank Welker, who voiced George in the 2006 feature film, returns here as the voice of Curious George. The show is currently broadcast on PBS Kids. The series illustrates and explains various concepts in math and science and each live-action segment shows schoolchildren engaging in experiments that teach the math or science concept featured in the previous cartoon.
No, but fish are seen being kept in bowls which is an unsuitable enclosure for them. However when this show was being made the fact that fish bowls are harmful wasn’t really known.
Nobody dies in the show, however there have been some scenes where animals almost got hurt, like one episode where someone’s pet mice and snake get loose and almost fall off the building, they are fine in the end.
One character is a fisherman and is frequently seen with fish, cooking them and having cooked fish seen. These fish aren’t detailed. Aside from fish and other meat items being eaten, there’s no dead animals.
In one episode George is fascinated by spider webs, and tries to make his own spider web and fails multiple times. Spiders are seen from up close, but they’re very cartoony.
George could be seen as a metaphor for being nonverbal autistic, but he’s not abused at all and his close friends are very good at understanding the way he “talks”.
There’s scenes where George tries to swim underwater, but he’s not wearing goggles and thus gets water in his eyes/mouth/nose, and struggles to breathe. He’s always okay.
A child named Dylan loses his clown toy and the cat Gnocchi decides she wants to play with it and gets a bit rough with it, but George and Hundley are able to retrieve it and return it to Dylan, and he’s very happy.
Nobody dies, however characters Betsy and Steve’s parents are never seen or mentioned, they’re always with their Aunt Margaret. It’s possible they’re separated from their parents / their parents have died and their aunt is caring for them, or they just visit their aunt a lot.
Nobody dies in the show, and nobody is seen pregnant, however there is one episode where Betsy mentions someone’s cat not feeling well but a few days later she has kittens. George then thinks the Man is going to have kittens, as he too wasn’t feeling well. In case it isn’t obvious, he doesn’t have kittens.
In one episode George has a dream where everything is “George sized”, meaning everything in the world is smaller and the perfect size for George, but small for others. In one scene a bunch of George’s friends are in his apartment and are very squished due to the low ceiling.
George has been seen falling from heights on multiple instances, but he doesn’t die. Badly injured in Housebound where he breaks his leg, but he’s fine in the end.
George is seen taking and enjoying baths in many episodes. The man is also seen taking showers, but nothing detailed is shown and it’s usually just a silhouette as there’s a shower curtain.
There are a few episodes where George and/or the Man With The Yellow Hat go to the hospital, such as Doctor Monkey and Housebound, where George breaks a bone. In all these episodes people are fine in the ending, and most doctor appointments are just normal doctor appointments one goes to.
Sort of? In one episode a very tall dog visits the apartment building George lives in and is very useful to the Doorman, and Hundley feels bad for being very short and feels like he’s being replaced with the taller dog who can reach higher. So George gets one of those funny mirrors to make Hundley look taller to boost his confidence. By the end of the episode he feels better about being short, if I recall correctly his short stature helped him do something the tall dog couldn’t do.
