"Love makes a girl stronger." Saki Uno is working hard as part of the new idol unit, Magical Twin. The one she admires most is Mohiro Mikage, who’s the older brother of her idol unit partner Sakuyo, and he’s also a member of the top idol unit STAR☆PRINCE. She would be willing to do anything for him, and one day, those feelings brought on a miracle. Saki ended up turning into a magical girl when she strongly wished to protect someone... Only the demons who share more of a closer resemblance to body builders than actual animals. The fighting that is shown does contain blood but the gore is always censored out.

Nothing is graphically shown but after the scene where saki’s best friend confesses she grabs onto her and Saki nervously says “I’m going to be pounded” although nothing ever happens other than intense hand holding. This is brought up again in the sixth episode but her best friend reassures her by saying “I’d never do anything you weren’t ok with” and dismisses herself from the situation. In episode ten there are also a group of bullies who threaten a boy to do “something unsavory” but they are stopped.

During the second episode there is a play off of hentai where a transformed Saki gets restrained by tentacles. Nothing happens except for a couple of panty shots where Saki’s bulge is shown. Throughout the show the “bulge” shots are common as a satire of the typical fan service in anime. Also in episode seven Saki’s mom is moaning very suggestively but she’s just getting a massage.

Saki is uncomfortable with her best friend’s advances but she feels bad for being judgmental and tries to understand her better. No slurs are ever said but a discomfort towards a lgbtq character is shown as well as other characters interrupting any romantic moments between a transformed Saki and her crush. The king of the fairies is especially guilty of this even going as far to say a same sex kiss “wasn’t allowed.”

The main premise of the show is that when Saki transforms she takes on the body of a muscular man. So any time that she is transformed people refer to her with male pronouns except for calling her a magical girl. Also in episode two Kokoro makes an unnecessary comment about the change saying that “males bodies are more fit for fighting”. So there are mild gender stereotypes.

No but I figured I should mention there is a really unnecessary “joke” at the very end of episode 9 and the final battle where one of the magical girls changes skin tone. Also in episode ten there is a scene where a character is being waited on two demons with Afros while non of the other demons have hair.

The main villains or “demons” are actually cute
cat like creatures but they always show up having a burly human body. All of the fighting aftermath is blurred out so you don’t actually see any gore. As someone who is sensitive to animals in harm it really didn’t bother me.
