The Bear is a 1998 short animated television film directed by Hilary Audus. Based on the book of the same name by the author Raymond Briggs, the film first broadcast on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom during Christmas 1999. It was also released on Buena Vista Home Video in 1998, the year before its release on British television.
Like The Snowman, the film does not have any spoken dialogue, although for the American version, Judi Dench narrates the film. The musical score was by Howard Blake and the end theme "Somewhere A Star Shines For Everyone" was sung by Charlotte Church.

In episode 1 and in episode 3, people have their fingers cut. In the first episode it's not noticed until later when the chef sees himself bleeding. A decent amount of blood but he puts a band-aid on quickly. In episode 3 a chef is walking around the kitchen and as she's crossing behind someone talking she goes to grab a box cutter and cuts her finger, a quick moment with no blood and she puts on a glove soon. Later she takes off her glove to wash her hands and there is a lot of blood shown in this moment, but passes after about 20 seconds. This show has a lot of cutting of foods by chefs so if the anxiety/anticipation of that is stressful this would be a show to avoid.
