ReportSynopsis
The wild story of young William Shakespeare's arrival onto the punk-rock theater scene in 16th century London -- the seductive, violent world where his raw talent faced rioting audiences, religious fanatics and raucous side-shows. It's a contemporary version of Shakespeare's life, played to a modern soundtrack that exposes all his recklessness, lustful temptations and brilliance.

Several scenes throughout, mostly in episodes 1-2 is where it is most graphic. Someone gets thier intestines pulled out and someone else gets a hot poker shoved down thier throat. It happens again at the beginning of episode 8, and in episode 9 a character is taken into the main antagonists home and comes out covered in bruises, tortured to the point of unconsciousness

Kind of — "sodomites" — but used self referentially at least some of the time.

Quite a lot - mostly in the first four episodes and briefly at the beginning of the fifth. There is sounds but never anything explicitly shown for long. A few times you see characters bare backs/backsides but the front is always covered up by something (a pillow, railing, etc.)
