ReportThe Targaryen dynasty is at the absolute apex of its power, with more than 15 dragons under their yoke. Most empires crumble from such heights. In the case of the Targaryens, their slow fall begins when King Viserys breaks with a century of tradition by naming his daughter Rhaenyra heir to the Iron Throne. The stag in S1E3 is particularly hard to watch. He is restrained with ropes and stabbed with a spear several times because the person killing him is too hungover/distracted to focus and aim properly. He definitely suffers. I may get time stamps later but it is easy to see it coming.

In episode 3, there is a hunting party. (TW: animal cruelty) A stag is captured and bound with ropes. A character is given a spear to kill it. The character is hungover and distracted so the stag is stabbed several times before he actually dies. He screams in fear and agony. The scene lasts about 2-3 minutes so it’s very drawn out.
