Usopp's father Yasopp pursues the Pirate way of life at the behest of his ill wife, however this does mean that he abandons Usopp, who was too young to understand why his father had left.

The fishmen are implied to have become terrors because they are enacting revenge for the prejudice and discrimination they faced. It deviates slightly from the original in this way, taking a much more direct allegory to real-life racism (and thus may be further difficult to witness).

The narrative involving Kaya and the Black Cat Pirates is she was manipulated and poisoned for years after her parents' death in an attempt to steal her family's riches by killing her after coming of age to inherent their estate. Kuro, as a pseudo parental figure, cruelly berates and insults her.

The Fish-Men portrayed in the series are inspired by deep sea life, including sharks. While they are humanoid, they still have certain features that may elicit a reaction.

Luffy, the protagonist, has an ability that has turned him into a rubber man. He stretches and warps his body, especially his limbs - though it is typically comedic in nature and is not overly grotesque. However, Buggy the Clown can segment his body at will, taking pieces of himself apart in various scenes.

In Episode 2, there is a scene which may trigger emetophobic viewers. While Luffy does not explicitly vomit, it does sound like he is vomiting. At around 38:10, the glass in the water-filled tank Luffy is in breaks - you can skip to 38:28 to avoid the emetophobic trigger.
In Episode 4, around the 25:05 mark, a scene starts that begins with two Marines behind Koby and Helmeppo carrying an unconscious Luffy through a dimly lit forest. The scene is safe to watch until around 25:50, wherein Luffy says the word "Meat," after which he vomits. Skipping to 26:13 will skip all visuals.

There is no connection to real-world police or copaganda, however The Marines (the military force of the show) are portrayed positively at times. Corruption is frequently noted and elaborated upon within its ranks, though it is done with the intent of portraying issues within the establishment.

In the second episode when buggy first demonstrates his devil fruit he detaches his head (for fun and games really) and it lands on a lady's lap and she screams.
In the end of the seventh episode nami screams the name "arlong" in rage (this scene may be distressing for those with a self-harm trigger too)
Many flashback scenes in the 7th and 8th episode have screaming and crying in it, I had to have some of it on mute (as a person with misophonia) and the rest on low volume.
Luffy screams out of excitement occasionally too.
If you hear Garp start laughing in weird tense moments, (usually after a conversation) he screams and yells straight after.
