The Wasp King and the Wasp Queen are not in any sort of romantic relationship or marriage. The Wasp King declared himself king and usurped the Queen.

There is an item called Berry Juice that is treated as alcohol by NPCs, with a few getting drunk at one point in the game. However, it's a normal healing item from a gameplay standpoint, with no side effects on your characters.

There is an optional boss called the Tidal Wyrm, and it’s the bug world’s equivalent of a dragon. When you defeat it, it retreats back into the lake it rose from.

There are no snakes - however, there is a cave whose entrance is shaped like the head of a snake, that you enter through the mouth. It is called Snakemouth Den and it is frequently spoken about throughout the game, so if just the mention of a snake is a trigger, this game isn’t for you.

There is also an optional boss called the Tidal Wyrm that is somewhat serpentine in nature, but not very much so.

One optional side mission for a party member features a LOT of body horror in regards to the enemies you fight. [Side mission requires completing Chapter 4 and the Peculiar Gem]

Nothing bad happens, but in Chapter 3 a scientist NPC talks about wanting to dissect one of the party members in a way that sounds like torture. He is visibly uncomfortable during the exchange. (SPOILERS) He is later revealed to have had a traumatic experience regarding the subject, but its not shown onscreen.

Sort of. Elizant I fell into a "well-earned rest" prior to the events of the game and never wakes up. This is treated with the same narrative weight as death, and her daughter is shown to still be struggling with the loss.

During segments where you have to sneak around, the guards make a loud banging sound when they catch you, which startled me several times (certain enemies, like Midges use the same sound effect in combat). Turning down the sound in the menus helps significantly. (There are enemies who blend into the environment like cactling's, but they never startled me, and are very easy to spot after you've encountered them once.)

Not quite possession, but an optional fight requires you to fight an ally that's being puppeted by someone else. You can attack them, but you don't have to hurt them at all to win. (You have to use the Stolen Silk to access this fight). There are also zombies (ex: zombiants), which are essentially possessed. However, there is no reversing the process

The above, plus there's a scene in Chapter 3 where a character is implied to be holding a needle, but it's not shown. She talks about wanting to sedate one of the main characters and dissect him, which makes him extremely nervous.

(SPOILERS) Not sure if it counts, but one main character briefly struggles with negative self-image after uncovering some repressed memories, referring to himself as a "thing" rather than a person and becoming frustrated when his friends say otherwise. [Requires completing Chapter 4 and the Peculiar Gem] After having a flashback while unconscious in Chapter 4, he briefly refers to himself as an "abomination".

(SPOILERS) One of the main characters has survivor's guilt, and it's one of the main conflicts in Chapter 5. He talks about feeling helpless, has emotional outbursts, and expresses somatic symptoms such as shaking.
Another main character has a strong adverse reaction to mentions of surgery & sedation in Chapter 3, which is revealed in his sidequest to have been caused by a traumatic experience.

There are not homophobic slurs. However, there is a minor villain called Monsieur Scarlet who could be seen as a highly homophobic or transphobic caricature. He was created by one of the game’s backers, who says he canonically has a husband. He dresses up effeminately in pink and pretends to be weak and vulnerable in order to drain people’s life force by asking them for help and then leading them to his hideout.

Monsieur Scarlet is the only male ant seen. He wears a dress and is portrayed as both an effeminate man and a predatory one - he acts as though he is in danger to entice explorers to assist him, then he steals their life force. He is bright pink, and seems to flirt with one of the other characters, who is very uncomfortable with this. He is also the only canonically gay character in the game, due to the backer who designed him having given him a husband (who is not seen in game).

Several characters who are fat are often associated significantly with stereotypes, including fat characters making big screenshakes and making bouncing sounds when they move, being only associated with food, etc. Your party even comments on their weight occasionally. It isn't a major part of the game, but if it bothers you too much, I might reconsider.

Not against real-life minorities, but there is bug racism.
In addition, in Chapter 5 the leafbug tribe is introduced, and they seem to be based on Native American stereotypes. The developers seem to have attempted to portray this respectfully, but did not do so very well.

(SPOILERS)
It’s possible that the game takes place after a nuclear apocalypse. Humans are extinct, and although there is no definitive reason given, the day they went extinct is described as having fire rain from the sky, which could be interpreted as bombs being dropped or burning debris being sent flying by an explosion.
