In S2 Sofia is pregnant but Brennan confirms that the baby is immune to damage, so when she's in combat she pokes fun at the combatants for "beating up a pregnant lady", but the baby is never in danger and she's always raring for a fight!
Pete and his dad seem to have a somewhat abusive relationship, but they do not live together and his father is not often present. (Spoilers) Sofie's family also involves some drama but for the most part none of it is abusive in nature.
One of the characters can speak with animals, including bugs, and at one point casts a spell to make 3 bugs dramatically increase in size.
Another group of humanoid bugs attacks a neighborhood and wraps the residents in cocoons, with the intention to eat them.
A man who is trapped in a cocoon is rescued by being surrounded by fire which magically does not burn him.
A group of people go unconscious from smoke inhalation and are nearly burned to death while unconscious, but they are rescued.
It is briefly mentioned that a character cheated on his wife in the past.
(Spoilers) A woman believes that her husband has left her for another woman, but this is later revealed to be untrue.
Kingston, a main character, is a nurse that works at a professional hospital. Another main character also goes to an unregulated under-the-table hospital. He then needs to go to Kingston to be treated for something.
The character Wally is never confirmed (as of end of s2) to have x disability or nuerodivergent however when they are introduced in s1 it is clear that this character is believed to be unable to take care of themselves and has been somewhat abandoned by those expected to care for them. There is another point where their agency is removed from them. He is presented as a cartoonishly “dumb” character for laughs but it can be distressing to watch as the table seems unaware of the ableism in this NPC’s story and the way they interact with him.
A trans man is almost deadnamed in the first episode, but the person deadnaming him is cut off before even saying the name, and it's implied he doesn't even have a canonical deadname. Another character references this event in a later episode.
Characters get into fights every other episode and often kill or mutilate their enemies. Blood and gore is not visually present but may be described in detail.
