Follows a small town fast food manager (Thomas Mann) who gets in way over his head with the brutal local crime syndicate (Timothy Olyphant) after losing a $10,000 bet that was supposed to be a sure thing. With only 24 hours to outwit a gallery of thugs, the manger decides his only way out is to rob his own restaurant, called Beefy’s.
This movie contains 54 potentially triggering events.
One character witnesses her dad sneaking around with another woman. Her mom reprimands her for bringing it up after so many years.
Another character feels very obligated to fulfill his parents’ wishes and support them financially; but they are not abusive.
Little girl is left the car alone while parents are at therapy and car is almost set on fire but it does not get set on fire once guy sees the girl is inside
S1E4 A character drops a small child pretty hard onto pavement and it’s a little unclear whether the drop was intentional (the character has impulse-control issues and the child was “acting out”). Also, there is a joke about calling “child protective services” for “child abuse” in this episode but the comment is made about an adult.
S1E8 Children being emotionally neglected by their parents is shown in flashbacks.
S1E9 A child is kidnapped (accidentally) and witnesses some violence but is not mistreated and seems to have a good time.
S1E9 (SPOILERS): Someone’s torso is crushed by a panic room door. If this is a trigger, you’ll want to skip 0:17:30 all the way until 0:18:20. It’s pretty drawn out with a ton of audio gore.
The young daughter of two characters sneaks into another character's truck after her father is knocked unconscious. An AMBER alert is sent out for her.
show is not scary at all but a scene did make me jump in episode 8. you’ll see a girl hide chocolate under her bed and it pops up some sort of an imaginary person as a result of guilty conscience or something of that sort. you see the same person pop up in a flashback where she witnesses her dad having an affair.
episode 4 while running up some hotel stairs intoxicated in vegas. I looked down cause had a feeling it was gonna happen. I looked up at the screen once the sound stopped a bit after it happened so not sure how graphic it was but you do see the v go down the middle of the staircase
ep 6 dad is cleaning carpet and says little girl “thew up chocolate” you see him cleaning it up and it shows on the screen just looked like smeared chocolate to me but could be triggering for some
ep 9 after woman gets crushed to death. personally sound wasn’t too bad but there was visual
ep 10 VISUAL AND SOUND after eating some berries that ended up being poison. happens a second time after auditory hallucinations then a 3rd time after danny thinks he’s saved and says “someone’s coming”. when they wake up in the morning there’s and overhead shot and you see the v all over the floor around them
No copaganda but the riots following Rodney King’s murder are mentioned a few times. No flashbacks of police brutality or the general violence in K-Town are shown but I figure it’s worth mentioning in case anyone has trauma around that specific event.
In the first episode a character attempts suicide by inhaling carbon monoxide. Another character plays with a gun (in a sexual way) it’s not an attempt but seems like it might be at first
Yes. A main character habitually binge eats to cope with stress. This is shown in S1E1 when the character rapidly eats several fast food sandwiches in quick succession and almost vomits… this routine/behavior is mentioned in dialogue a few times after that.
No, but a character describes giving birth and the moments after in hospital which can be quite triggering as many of the emotions described are similar to a stillbirth.
Two characters are shown as babies receiving baths from their parents. There is also a pregnant women who gives birth (off screen) and we see the baby being held
A middle-aged woman catfishes a much younger man. Not initially with the intention of sleeping with him but (spoilers) they end up sleeping together regardless.
At one point, the young man’s older brother tells her she is “sick” for sleeping with a “child.” I’m reasonably sure the young man is not actually a minor but his age is never confirmed.
There is a scene in an early episode where two of the main characters are in the motel pool area. While one of them is cooking on a grill, the other is swimming & for a few seconds, the character in the pool is floating facedown without moving, but he’s fine & stands back up a moment later.
