In this episode there’s a nightmare spirit whom Hilda challenges and when the nightmare spirit is trying to scare Hilda, she dreams of walking into a room and there’s spiders crawling everywhere, all over the room, and around her. She picks one up. It’s quite creepy, but stylised.

It’s INCREDIBLY stylised though.
When people are killed/chopped, the parts where the body should be attatched or there should be blood are just still, bright light. It’s hard to explain. I personally usually get scared by stuff like that, but it’s so stylised and everyone comes back to life (plot reasons)

Somewhat, but in a cartoon-ish not too too scary way. There are many magical, odd creatures in the show such as a Rat King which is a pile of rats that all move together and some ghosts that also have bones. It may be a little unsettling to younger viewers or those sensitive to certain things, however I do think they show tries to keep it not too creepy/still child appropriate.

Hilda has a dream in The Nightmare Spirit which looks close to reality at first but you know it’s a dream pretty quick. In the House in the Woods, Hilda and woodman are trapped in a never ending house, weird angles and they keep going up the staircases and then going up the same one again, again, again… also in the episode the windmill, a woman opens up “nowhere space” (a vast endless space in many episodes) and goes through a hole, ending up somewhere uncertain and strange.
