Verbally abusive man is nasty to his wife. Wife kills abusive husband. Also another husband gaslights his wife and treats her pretty poorly considering how they were at the beginning of the season. The daughter treats her mother arguably even worse (affectively killing her).

Episode 1- around 11-12 minutes in there’s a fox running along the beach and suddenly hands reach out and grab it. It makes a strangled sound, but you don’t see it beyond that.

Episode 1- During the beginning of the episode the little girl is counting roadkill. You see a quick shot of a dead squirrel and then a long and close up shot of a dead deer. Luckily neither looks especially realistic. She also discusses the other dead animals she’s seen on the road, including what she thinks was a cat.
Episode 2- About 12 minutes in, Harry comes upon someone eating an already dead squirrel. And then at the very end of the episode, Doris finds someone eating another dead animal, but I (happily) couldn’t personally tell what it was supposed to be and it’s seen briefly.
Episode 5- Doris has a bad dream early in the episode and you see the dead deer from episode one again in a closeup shot. At the end of the episode Alma and Ursula are walking past the graveyard and see someone eating an already dead rabbit.

Not only this but there are little hints of homophobia to go with it. The murderer in question is told to ONLY kill criminals or wrong doers. This would imply the murderer see’s the gay man he killed (he found him by pretending he wanted a hook up, so he specifically targeted this person) was some kind of criminal or wrong doer…
