In the opening cutscene of the game when the main character is punched the camera rocks vigorously with each punch, which is basically three times. The camera follows the main character but there are no instances of it shaking again.
The protagonist you play as kills a father, The Hand, and then leaves to the next level.
The only two beings supposed to be on this level are The Hand and his son. So when The Hand dies and the player leaves, the son is orphaned on that level.
Two, maybe three, characters try to influence the main character by telling them of the consequences that will occur if he doesn't do as directed, or at least heavily alludes to the consequences.
Yes but it's supposed to be therapeutic. The player character has been abused by the jailers, one of which a lot more than others (and you can even see a bit of the abuse in the opening cut-scene).
The game's entire motto is "The jailer is the key, kill him and you'll be free." So you go through the game killing the jailers who are keeping you locked up, among a few other things.
One of the quick-time events involves the main character being dragged underwater and if you fail to get out of the bosses hold in time, the main character loses his breath and depending on the main character's health, he'll rush to get to the surface when the boss lets go and then start coughing and gasping for air or he'll either float to the surface unconscious.
The supporting character dons an unnerving purple, red-eyed bunny hood. If you see the secret cutscene near the end of the game though, you'll see why he does that.
2 uses of the F Word, One by the first boss has a chance to be said if you die, the second is when you are approaching the second boss. One use of "hell" as well. The f-words are probably the only reason the game is rated M.
The first boss often demeans the main character by saying he isn't human and one of the DLC bosses hate the main character because of something his people did..
The brief walking scenes through the sewer tunnels leading up to the fourth boss is somewhat cramped but it leads up to a very open room. There aren't any other closed spaces other than this that I can think of.
But only somewhat. When you step into the domain of the fourth boss, it is shown that the boss followed you while you trekked through the domain until you reach the area where you are to fight the boss.
The main character is frequently harmed during his fights with the bosses like if he fails a quick-time event. Also, if the main character loses one of his lives, a couple bosses will treat him roughly when moving his unconscious form. The game also opens up with the main character being electrocuted and manhandled.
A few bosses will have gruesome sound effects with their deaths such as squelching sounds when they are impaled or when the second boss screams when she dies of electrocution.
The game opens up to the main character's guard/torturer electrocuting, punching, and verbally degrading him. Also, one of the bosses dies off-screen to a pit of electricity. You cant see the boss die but you can hear her scream and you can see electrical currents come out of the pit she was pushed in.
Its unsure what race The Chain is. One can assume he's Japanese because of the Japanese cultural references in his battle armor but still, no definitive proof of race.
The Strap has the features of a nude woman, but it's not really in a sexual sense. It doesn't have nipples or any visible genitalia. And it acts very wild and crazy.
