Follow Tia Torres, founder of Villalobos Rescue Center, and her family as they rehabilitate both felons and ill-reputed pit bulls who come together to rescue one another from their dim pasts, and bring new meaning to life.
Dogs are sometimes shown reaching end of life, or having to be euthanized due to illness, but rarely does a dog die onscreen. However, there is one episode where rescuers attempt to revive a puppy on the way to an emergency vet and are sadly unsuccessful. This causes the rescuers to break down emotionally. In another episode, Tia breaks down when she learns a favorite dog has passed peacefully from cancer.
Several canine examples, but most notable is Chong, an American bulldog and littermate to Cheech. His passing causes Tia to break down weeping on the side of the road when she hears of it.
Some Villalobos employees came from homeless situations. They also occasionally help the dogs of homeless people. One dog is surrendered because her homeless owner has to return to her home country for medical treatment.
