The movie opens up with Victor Frankenstein running from the monster out in the ice, and the monster coming after him, killing multiple sled dogs. Slightly graphic but not very realistic. Still fairly upsetting.
Not to a substance, but the main character (Victor Frankenstein) is quite addicted/obsessed with the science of the human body and his work concerning immortality/death.
A man, who appears mentally unwell, stabs a doctor and is later hanged publicly. Justine is blamed for Williams death by locals, and also hanged publicly.
Not quite incestuous but still very weird …Victor is in love with Elizabeth, who is his adopted sister, not a sister by blood. They did grow up together so it’s somewhat uncomfortable.
