There's a scene where Paul and (his mother) Jessica are sheltering in a tent. Paul has a vision of the future that distresses him. Jessica reaches out to comfort him, but Paul SCREAMS at her to get away from him, leaving her shocked and almost cowering.

Only tangentially. Jessica is a member of an order that manipulates people from the shadows. This frustrates both her partner and their son to not be told the whole truth and not always know when they're being manipulated. I did not notice any overt/textbook gaslighting where she responds to a character's concerns by causing them to feel that their mind is unreliable.

beetle at 12 mins. helicopter designed to look like a dragonfly shows up around 37 mins, these are shown throughout the movie many times. there is a giant spider at 47 mins that is like their pet spider but it's at least the size of a wolf possibly bigger.
at 1:08 you see a "worm" (with several minutes of tense buildup) but it looks like the sarlacc from star wars and doesn't come out of the ground so you don't see an actual worm shape- just the teeth. at 1:49 another beetle. 1:56 worm again, same shot as before. at 2:12 you finally see worm out of the ground. they are freaky looking but appear leathery similar to the aliens in arrival. 2:26 you see someone far away riding a worm like a horse but you don't see it's head/mouth

During the scene where Paul is tested by the Reverend Mother, he is made to feel that something very painful is happening to his hand. His hand is not actually harmed, but there is graphic imagery of the damage he imagines.

There's mention of killing people to take the water/moisture from the bodies and later they save a body for the same reason, which is considered honorable. Nothing is shown on screen.

In the early part of the movie, on the Atreides home planet, there are quite a few scenes in locations overlooking the ocean. Once the action moves to the desert planet, there are no more large bodies of water.

There is a gag scene when Paul and his mother are being abducted. Around 1h:28-29. It is right after he says “remove her gag.” He makes a retching noise but that’s all. There’s also a fair amount of coughing/choking noises which were a bit distressing to me personally

The Fremen live in the desert, and spitting is a way of showing respect before speaking to someone. It occurs at a council table when a Fremen representative comes and speaks with Leto, and again later when it shows a quick montage of Fremen gathering and speaking.

There are a lot of transitions from light scenes to dark scenes. I did not personally consider this to be fast enough to be flashing, but sometimes it does happen repetitively and it is somewhat jarring at times.

The main bad guy is very overweight and is shown eating a large meal in a scene that has a similar tone to Denethor's meal in Return of the King. It's not really a fat joke. More like disturbingly heavy handed coding of "fat = immoral."
