Played for comedy. A side quest involves a serial womanizer tasking the protagonist with locating his children and giving them apology letters. In one instance, two lovers realize they have the same father.
The main antagonist is essentially gaslighting the whole country with his speeches and propaganda and such. On a more personal level, how he interacts with his son could be considered gaslighting, it is manipulation and the very least
The main antagonist has a son who is mentally manipulated and sometimes slightly physically harmed by his father. It is an important theme of the story
You can kill animals, they can be killed by NPCs, or by the environment itself. There are goals and quests involving hunting certain animals. Animal parts can be traded for items or cooked for buffs.
None of these things are required to complete the story but may just happen as a result of being an unpredictable open world.
Cockfighting minigame. However it’s largely portrayed as an arcade fighter, a la Virtua Fighter. Whether you win or lose, the roosters are fine afterward.
Outside of this you are free to maim or kill any animals in the game. While not required to complete the main story, some side quests or goals require hunting and killing animals to complete.
I don't recall any domesticated (house) cats in the game.
There are big cats - panthers - that can attack the player and/or NPCs and can be killed by either the player or by NPCs.

There is no interaction between them and the player, and they are not seen closely.
The climax of one of the game’s milestones shows a character being hanged. There is another story quest where a character is being hanged but is saved.
The protagonist gets tortured including having teeth extracted. Other NPCs are shown being tortured. Some of these are main story but are shippable cutscenes.
Very very minimal, literally only in one side quest could there be maybe a ghost. You never see it but many creepy things happen in a certain fort that are not explained
An NPC administers emergency first aid to a critically injured NPC on a gurney.
There are several medical facilities where NPCs are forced to undergo experimental drug testing.
