There is actually quite a bit of kidnapping in this book. A character was kidnapped at the end of last book and is being help hostage by witches. The character is then "rescued" by a villain playing good Samaritan, who then turns out to be evil and the child's father. He then takes 3 characters as hostages to find another character and reveals his plot to kill his child and takes more characters with him. He is unsuccessful in all his plots and dies. While this is happening, another main character is being kidnapped by another villain.
