A girl is ordered to “lose something important to her.” She destroys all her belongings and kills her parents but none of these qualify as important enough to her for her to pass. She then starts to strangle her dog to death but stops after a few seconds and can’t bring herself to kill it. The dog lives and she dies for failing to comply with the order.
A girl is ordered to “lose something important to her.” She kills her parents but they don’t qualify as important enough to her for her to pass. She dies regardless for failing to comply.
One of the orders requires characters to break their own fingers. Two characters break all the fingers on one of their hands and they are told they will never be able to use that hand again. (Not that the last part really matters because they both die shortly after to something else regardless)
Bizarrely, None of the parents seem aware of any of the horrible shit that’s going on to their children but that seems to be more like bad writing not considering the parents (or any other adults like the teachers or police) in the situation at all rather than a display of bad parenting.
There are two scenes of two different couples where the girlfriend is forced to cheat on their boyfriend or they will be killed by the games host. With the first couple, the boyfriend doesn’t know this and violently assaults the other guy, whereas with the second couple, the boyfriend is aware of this and lets it happen so they won’t both die.
A character disassociates upon seeing the dead body of their best friend, becomes completely incapable of believing they are dead, and try’s to talk to their corpse with a normal conversation for several minutes while acting like they aren’t dead.
A man asks a woman what they think heaven is like and they respond that they don’t believe it exists.
[SPOILERS]
The ending shows all the characters in heaven. Bizarrely, this includes the antagonist, who is responsible for murdering several people in cold blood, gaslighting her best friend and falsely accusing someone of rape just to spite them.
[SPOILERS] They are told that the King’s game will stop spreading if everyone dies, but even though everyone dies at the end, in the post credits scene, it’s shown that a new one just starts at a new school anyway regardless so everyone died for nothing.
There’s a scene where a guy is ordered to have sex with a girl who displays psychotic behaviour. The girl tries to force him to do it a couple times with him initially refusing but he goes through with it eventually because he would die otherwise but he looks very uncomfortable and scared during the scene and would absolutely not go through with it at all if it wasn’t for the fact he would die if he didn’t.
Some characters are killed by being burned alive, the most egregious instance being a scene where a character burns to death for a minute straight onscreen.
The orders are specifically targeted to each person to be as horrific as possible and often result in physical or mental torture, often a person is forced to torture someone else.
