the film portrays kai's account of being raped as a lie, and even in scenes where that isn't said outright it's implied. A man who is interviewed says he doesn't believe the man who raped kai ever hurt him because he's a nice neighbor, and kai's own recollection of the assault is portrayed as due in part to him being unstable/mentally ill. This goes on for some time. The second half of the film is heavy on the rape culture and could/will be triggering for anyone who has been assaulted and not believed.
